The classic three views: the most striking image is the three dimensional (1:160 scale) silver wire model of Concorde, providing the “Plan” view. The background image provides the “Head on” view and the ingenious reflection providing the “Side view”. Each wire model is hand made, all 100 the same yet each unique.
Made from sterling silver wire each model is hallmarked by the London Assay Office and bearing the full London hallmarks.
On starboard side of the tail plane (visible in the reflection), is the unique serial number, lasered (in 3D) by the assay office as “x/100”. Discreetly positioned so not to detract from the beauty of the art form on the port side of the tail plane is the full assay marking. The serial number of the model is also next to the artist's signature. From left to right are three prominent, historic and original signatures, these are not copies or printed they are original signatures, together!
- Squadron Leader Peter P Baker, Assistant Chief Test Pilot, Concorde,
- Captain Jock Lowe, Chief Pilot, Concorde,
- Captain Les Brodie, Flight Manager, Concorde.
Between the exacting colour schemes on the tail planes showing the liveries are two more of the most prominent signatures, which we have managed to acquire, and again both signatures are original, not copied and not printed, but originals.
- Sir Ross Stainton KB CBE, former Chairman of British Airways,
- Lord Marshall of Knightsbridge, former Chairman of British Airways.
In the upper frame, above and below their original signatures, are the four flown tail plane liveries:
- Pre-production,
- Negus and Negus,
- Landor,
- Chatham flag.
If you click on the picture you will see more detail, and you may also notice no visible signatures, the reason for this is simple, each piece is unique and as such we believe if you wish to own one of these Tributes you want the assurance that no one else could have a picture of your Tribute unless you have allowed it. So, no original signatures are shown, it helps prevent people breaching copyright!
Mounted to the left of the tail planes is 1 of the blades from a High Pressure Stage 7 Compressor, from a Rolls-Royce Olympus 593-610 Turbojet engine, off Concorde. This item has been in service and is certificated as authentic by British Airways. A brief description of the blade is beside it.
